The Humane Society celebrates another successful year helping pet owners through our affordable veterinary clinic. In 2015 the clinic assisted 21,777 owned pets with preventative veterinary care and treatment for injury and illness, and 4,633 pets with spay/neuter surgery. Grants from Banfield Charitable Trust helped us subsidize visits for animals whose owners were experiencing extreme financial hardship. If you would like to support this life saving program visit our donation page for ways to make a donation.
Pet Food Bank
Donated food available now and while supplies last
HSGKC's Pet Food Bank is located at our facility and is open to people needing assistance feeding their cats and dogs. The Pet Food Bank is open to anyone who qualifies and is living in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. To receive pet food assistance, owners must fill out a form showing need (anyone on government assistance, Social Security or meeting WIC poverty guidelines will qualify; please bring proof of need.)

The Pet Food Bank will operate on an on-going basis while supplies last and is partially funded by a generous grant from Banfield Charitable Trust.
Thank you to Banfield Charitable Trust and Royal Canin.
Would you like to take your four legged friend on a walk but you don't have a proper collar and leash set? At The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City we want all dogs to get as many walks as their sweet little hearts desire. If not having a collar and leash is holding you back from quality time with your canine companion please stop by the shelter. We would be happy to get you a brand new collar and leash. Not only will you be making your dog very happy-- walking will also be great for your health!
