The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City offers a variety of preventive and basic veterinary care services. We do not screen based on financial need.
No appointments are required; rather our veterinarians see patients on a first-come, first-served basis. We do offer appointments for wellness check ups and annual vaccines Monday through Friday from 10am – 2:30pm and Saturdays from 9am – 12:30pm. To make an appointment call 913-596-1000 or send an email. We have Spanish translators on staff.
Would you like to take your four legged friend on a walk but you don't have a proper collar and leash set? At The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City we want all dogs to get as many walks as their sweet little hearts desire. If not having a collar and leash is holding you back from quality time with your canine companion please stop by the shelter. We would be happy to get you a brand new collar and leash. Not only will you be making your dog very happy-- walking will also be great for your health!
Monday thru Friday: 9am to 4pm
Saturday: We are open most Saturdays from 9am to 1pm by appointment only. Email or call 913-596-1000.
Our Clinic will be closed Saturday, January 14 due to the weather.
*Please call ahead at 913-596-1000 to verify times. Our clinic sometimes experiences large volumes of clients. When this happens we must stop accepting clients for that day. We have two veterinarians on Tuesday and Thursday and can see more clients on those days.
Clients are able to receive preventive health care for their pets including exams, vaccinations and tests for heartworm disease, feline leukemia and feline immunosuppressive virus. Basic care for things such as small wounds and flea allergies are also provided. We sell heartworm prevention medication for dogs, flea and tick prevention, and other basic pet care products.
We are not a full-service clinic and do not provide services such as x-rays, teeth cleaning, extensive lab work, or surgeries other than spay/neutering.
We require that any adult pet using our clinic services be spayed/neutered. Most puppies and kittens can be spayed or neutered starting at 4 months of age. We do not offer our veterinary services to breeders. Spay/neuter clinic information >
