Great Balls of Fur Baseball Tournament

Saturday, May 4 from 10:30am to 2pm
Sunday, May 5 from 10:30am to 2pm

HSGKC has been chosen to be the beneficiary of the Great Balls of Fur Baseball Tournament! You can bring wish list items and drop them off anytime during the tournament. We'll be there on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 2pm with adoptable dogs. Our tent will be just inside the main gate and between fields 4 & 5. Click here for a map >

Banfield Service Day at HSGKC
Wednesday, May 15
at our clinic: 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66104
9am to 4pm

Free well-pet check-ups and immunizations for senior citizen and low-income pet owners. Walk-ins will be accepted but appointments are encouraged. Call 913-596-1000.

Foster Parent Orientation
Saturday, May 18
at our shelter
10:30am to Noon

Providing foster care is a wonderful and personal way to contribute to saving and improving the lives of homeless pets. To learn more or to find out if fostering is for you, there will be an orientation to answer your questions and concerns. All necessary paperwork will be provided at orientation or you can download the form. For more information, email or call 913-596-1000 ext. 122. We'll also be offering a foster care orientation on Wednesday, June 5.

Paws @ The Mart : Doggy Rescue Rally

Nebraska Furniture Mart is hosting this event for multiple shelters and rescues to showcase adoptable dogs. Come out and meet lots of wonderful dogs!

Hands On Dog Training Class
Open to HSGKC staff & volunteers
(volunteers must have completed volunteer orientation training)
Saturday, June 1
at our shelter
Noon to 2pm

Hands on training class using shelter dogs (please no outside dogs!) to teach people how to train in basic obedience skills, correctly getting shelter dogs into and out of kennels and the basics of loose leash walking, all using positive reinforcement training techniques. Presented by Mike Deathe with K.I.S.S. Dog Training. Classes are free and offered to HSGKC staff and volunteers only. RSVP required. Please RSVP to Jill. This class will also be offered June 22.

Aristocrat Motors' Adoption Extravaganza: Satellite Adoption Event

Aristocrat Motors is hosting an adoption event for us and other area shelters. Come meet the adoptable dogs!

Dog-N-Jog
Sunday, June 9
The Country Club Plaza
7am to 10:30am

More than a thousand people and several hundred dogs will invade The Country Club Plaza that morning to walk or run. Celebrity emcees including Gary Lezak will be on hand to start the races. There will be entertainment such as a raffle, an agility course, music and more!

Help continue to raise money after Dog-n-Jog by stopping by California Pizza Kitchen. They're donating 20% of your sale to The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City WHEN YOU SHOW THEM THIS FLYER! If you have your dog and aren't able dine in, then consider TAKE OUT! Those sales apply as well.
