to the dogs!

Come join the fun (pooches optional) for the
2nd Annual Yoga in the Park fundraiser, proceeds to benefit the Humane
Society of Greater Kansas City. Spend time bonding with your pooch
at the 9:30 am Doga (dog yoga) session or just contribute to the
cause while doing your own yoga class at the 10 am Hot-Style yoga
session (people only). Either way, you’re sure to have an enjoyable
morning doing something healthy while spending a beautiful morning
outdoors. The registration fee is only $5.
Registration: 9-10 am

Amanda's 1st Annual Dog Festival
Sunday, September 7
Porter Park at 73rd & Roe
in Prairie Village, KS
Our dogs will be there from 1-4pm (event runs from 12-5pm)
Come join us for a fun afternoon in the park! This
is an event put on by H & K's Service Paws to raise money for KSDS,
Inc., which is an organization that provides highly trained service dogs
for disabled children. We'll have a booth there from 1-4 pm and we'll
be bringing several of our adoptable dogs. Included in this dog festival
will be dog agility demonstrations, costume contests, pet therapy groups,
booths with pet related businesses, pet adoption groups, and fun things
for kids-- mural painting, moonwalk, face painting etc.

Say
Cheese Pet Photo Contest
Deadline for Entries is September 15
Start snapping photos of your pets today for their entry
into the 6th Annual Say Cheese Pet Photo Contest. The winning entries will
have their photos featured by NBC Action News Chief Meteorologist Gary
Lezak during the evening news, along with a bag full of pet and people
goodies! The entry fee is just
$5 per photo entry. Digital or print photos are welcome.

Roads Lead Home is a story for all animal lovers. It was filmed
entirely in Kansas City and was Peter Boyle's last film. The Humane Society
of Greater KC will be joining other local animal welfare organizations
to present a special preview screening and party on Wednesday, September
24th. Come and meet many of the cast and crew that made this movie and
support local animal welfare organizations.
