Romeo & Juliet

Sometimes the stories that come out of the Ray of Hope program can be difficult to hear. Luckily, Romeo and Juliet's Ray of Hope story has a happy ending. These two sweet dogs were abandoned in a house after their owners moved away. The dogs were inside the house for a month before they were rescued.

When KCK Animal Control and HSGKC's Shelter Services Director were alerted to the situation they found the starving dogs barely able to stand, but their tails were still wagging. The doors and windows of the house were scratched where the dogs had tried to escape. They'd gone through the trash looking for food and the toilet water was all gone.

Luckily, Romeo and Juliet were saved just in time. They were transferred to our shelter and given the medical care and TLC they needed. Both dogs made a full recovery and have been adopted by loving people and they're doing very well now.
